Stephanie Hoernes is a pianist of outstanding experience in solo and chamber music, as well as Lied repertoire. She regularly thrills her audiences with both nuanced playing and emotional fulfillment of any piece of music.
Stephanie's regular chamber music partners include violinist Simon Bernardini (Berlin Philharmonics), clarinettist Matthias Glander (Staatskapelle Berlin) and violist Marion Leleu with whom she co-founded Duo AltoPiano, a duo dedicated to the performance of lesser-known masterpieces for viola and piano. She enjoys a frequent and close collaboration with American violist Jason Bonham culminating in the production of a joint CD, „Mythic“ (DACA Records, 2020).
Since 2003 she has been coaching singers at Berlin’s Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler". She also works as coach for the string department at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Rostock and taught piano at the Hochschule für Musik “Carl Maria von Weber” in Dresden from 2004 to 2010.

In July 2010 she was on the jury of the 3. Solhi Al Wadi International Piano Competition in Damascus and completed her stay by holding a masterclass.
In 2018 she was invited to hold masterclasses for piano and chamber music at Biola University and CSULB in Los Angeles,Ca., followed by a masterclass at Performing Arts School, Santa Ana in 2019.

Stephanie began her studies at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg with Professor Tibor Hazay.
After receiving her diploma, she continued her studies with Professor Matthias Kirschnereit in Rostock, graduating cum laude in 2001.
In 2004, she participated in a master class held by Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.
Her mentors furthermore include Berlin-based pianist Frank-Immo Zichner with whom she has worked since 1998, and world-famous pianist Yefim Bronfman with whom she worked in 2005.
Stephanie Hoernes is an Austrian national. She and her husband live in Berlin, Germany.
